Billboard Design Competition Launches with $18,000 in Prizes
MEDIA RELEASE — Miles McNeal & Powell LLC is excited to announce the launch of the 2024 Inspire Vallejo Design Challenge, a dynamic billboard design competition open exclusively to Vallejo and Benicia students aged 16-24. With the spirit of spreading inspiration and the blessing of Shaun Tai, Co-Founder & Executive Director of BRIDGEGOOD and Jefferson Award recipient, we bring the Inspire Vallejo Design Challenge to life, echoing the 15 year success of Inspire Oakland.
The competition, running from July 7 - September 7, 2024, encourages participants to create unique and original Vallejo-centric graphic designs configured in three ways: (1) social media, (2) t-shirt graphic, and (3) digital billboard. This free-to-enter competition offers local talent a platform to showcase their visions of inclusiveness and creativity, celebrate and contribute to their community, and inspire Bay Area residents and the art community.
The 2024 Inspire Vallejo Design Challenge is sponsored by: City of Vallejo, Hewlett Foundation, Solano County Fairgrounds & Event Center, Center for Cultural Innovation, Three Palms Group, Vallejo Arts Fund, House of Acts, EM Mobile, and BRIDGEGOOD.
“Inspire Vallejo is more than a competition; it's a movement to empower our youth and uplift our community through the transformative power of art,” said R. Shay Miles, Chairwoman of Miles McNeal & Powell LLC and Vallejo native. “We, along with our sponsors, believe in the potential of our young artists to inspire positive change and celebrate the beauty and diversity of Vallejo.”
